I don’t see the point in setting up a Blog so I can wallpaper it with runway caps (also, don’t know how to use Photoshop) and intuitive, thought-provoking captions like “I love this”, “I love that”, and the prerequisite “I die”. No one wants to hear you gush about something you don’t even own, especially if the next chick on the Blogroll is going on about more or less the same thing, or a different thing with more or less the same platitude (“I die”, etc.).
Truth. I think the Tumblr/Twitter paradigm has removed the need for opinion in writing or saying something. It’s just reblog this and RT that (remember the hashtags!).
Ok, I’ve never actually seen “I die” yet, but it sounds annoying as hell. Although having an actual point to the gushing is alright.
But really, it’s just reblogged vintage photographs over and over and over again. Just having cool stuff on yr Tumblr or Facebook doesn’t mean shit if you’re not actually gonna say something about it. I think stuff like that is kinda like a phone directory or a Catalog (lulz) of comp cards.
I guess the ‘why’ and ‘how’ have been completely replaced by the ‘what’. In some weird way, that isn’t too bad. I love consuming so much I should be American.
(Oh, and “unicorn vomit” is harsh. But true. Oh well, too bad for me.)
